Ex Hex at Rough Trade

Tonight I kept expecting to see the Fonz appear with a massive woop from a hidden studio audience. Ex Hex are straight from the Suzi Quatro school of unreconstructed rock and roll. In other words, simple music done very effectively by a band who seem to be enjoying themselves.The lead guitarist seemed very proficient with some pretty good sightless guitar playing and all the band played off each other really well. It was only a pity it was at Rough Trade and not a sweaty club with a drunk audience because their music is simple music that you’ll clearly get maximum enjoyment out of, if in the right state.
