History of Apple Pie

After the talk from Jimmy Page I decided to drop into the Lexington to see a History of Apple Pie. Another one of my ‘random’ gigs.

The first band were Phobophobes who had an interesting sound. Definitely give them another listen to.

The headliner, The History of Apple Pie musically sounded okay but they didn’t really grab me. Unfortunately I thought the sound mixing wasn’t great, which is unusual for the Lexington where it’s usually excellent. But the lead singer’s vocal were too low in the mix for my liking. In fact the bassist (who’s the singer in the band Big Sister) sang, her vocals were clearer and better. Maybe with different mixing, it might work. But on tonight’s performance. Not a band for me.
