Divorce

There’s a bit of a buzz around Nottingham’s Divorce, so it wasn’t a surprise to see a decent audience tonight. In my case, I had seen them play the Lexington earlier in the year and I have to admit, while I liked what I heard, I wasn’t left feeling that they were a must see band. At times vocals strayed too much into a country music affectation. Tonight most of the set was again pleasant indie fare with the last few songs their ‘country indie’ songs, which maybe gives them something different to other bands, but I could have happily done without.

Support tonight was Blood Wizard. Another Nottingham band and a band I have a lot of time for. Tonight they played new songs from an album that was coming out at the end of the week (which they sadly didn’t have for sale). The new material sounded great.
