Sea Power at Islington Assembly Hall (Friday)
The first of two evenings with Sea Power. Friday evening was announced first and not surprisingly, there were a lot of familiar faces in the audience. The set list was the same as the previous week in Birmingham, as was the support act, Callum Easter, with Sea Power playing ‘Do You Like Rock Music’ in full and then a long encore.
I’ve never really been a fan of Islington. But with so many regulars in attendance, there was a really good atmosphere and like in Birmingham, the band on form and I found the venue managed to walk the line between being intimate and also feeling a big gig. I think I preferred two nights here, than Sea Power using a bigger venue like Shepherds Bush Empire.
