Daylight Music 27th June
Another interesting Saturday with a mixture of music styles and even some choreography.
Starting the afternoon was Thomas Stone who played a contrabassoon and activated percussion. I’ve never seen activated percussion. It appears to be some electronic devices connected to a laptop that would hit the drum to make a percussive sound. He played his own compositions and they were interesting minimalistic pieces.
Next up was HART. Again, interesting. He had that kind of high pitched alt-folk voice that was popular a few years ago. It’s not my favourite vocal style as I find it wearing after to long. But this set was just the right length which I enjoyed.
Finally, a departure for Daylight Music, dance. With Lucy Claire’s music accompanied by two dancers. I never bought into dance. But I have to admit, I’ve been warming to it over the last few years and today’s performance really complemented a beautiful composition from Lucy. Most enjoyable.
