Daylight Music 345

A delightful Daylight Music at St John’s Leytonstone celebrating vastly different types of electronic music, from a stylophone orchestra to an Ondes Martenot. It is these slightly left-field sessions when Daylight is at its best. Taking the familiar and changing your perception of them. I mean, a stylophone orchestra, that sounds terrible, right? Of course it wasn’t. Kingston University’s Stylophone orchestra was brilliant fun and they even including a brilliant Vangelis tribute. Everyone found Josh Semans explaining and then playing improvised pieces on the ondes Martenot completely fascinating. Slotted in the middle was Jay Chakravorty playing minimalist classical music that melded piano, keyboards and a violin and viola. Pretty much a perfect afternoon of left-field music.
