The Nest Collective at the Royal Festival Hall

First gig of the year and a free gig at the Royal Festival Hall organised by the Nest Collective, featuring several folk bands. Unfortunately I got there late so missed the first pair who had started a singing workshop by the time I arrived. So I headed off for a walk down to Tower Bridge.

When I got back, Kit Hawes and Nuala Honan were playing. They weren’t to my taste. They were too ‘country’ for my liking.

Closing the afternoon was India Electric Company who were more traditional fair. Playing a more traditional range of folk instruments such as mandolins, accordions and fiddles they were played some nice more traditional folk music. Great music to start the year.
