Warmduscher at Rough Trade

Great to see Warmduscher again. Now that they are playing the big venues, it has been a few years since I last saw them. Catching their album release show for their fourth album is a good opportunity seeing them up close again.

While I love the fact many of the current set of post-punk bands are talking about serious issues. We all need a band who simply make us smile and dance. Warmduscher are that band for me. Their new album takes Warmduschers customary sleazy baselines and continues the trend from the last album of throwing in some early 80s disco. I am not sure the new tunes are as strong as those on the first two albums and there is a risk the band could overstay their welcome. But Clams, dressed like a reject from an 80s rap video, continues to be an engaging presence and makes the sound work. This was an enjoyable set and I look forward to catching them again sometime soon.
