Peaness at Rough Trade

It is many years since I first caught Chester’s finest, Peaness at the Shacklewell Arms in 2016. Other than a support slot a few year’s later, I haven’t caught up with Peaness. Since then, they have gained a lot of fans and released a few EPs but for some reason, it has taken this long for their debut album to be released. Thankfully it is a lovely slice of indie pop and worth the wait.

Tonight, the band played the whole album from start to finish. Sadly, Rach, the drummer had lost her voice which meant she couldn’t sing her parts. Subsequent gigs were cancelled after she was diagnosed with severe tonsillitis. Despite everything, the band coped well and this was a lovely warm gig. With the girls clearly enjoying the evening.
