They rarely tour Europe so I wanted to catch this performance. It was in no way easy. I’d arrived back from Barcelona late the previous night and I had to go get up to at 4am to catch an early train to Birmingham. It had also been moved from a ‘secret venue’ that was meant to be near Hackney Central to London Fields Brewery, in the arse end of the East End. Which is a crap place for me to get back from. Not that the kind of venue you want to have to go to if you really should have an early night. But it is the Coathangers.

Thankfully, the Coathangers were on top form with their brand of fun chaotic pop punk rock. Support came from a The Virgin Kids and dutch band, St Tropez. The later putting in a great performance.
