They’re a decent band, but they’re also edging towards being a novelty act. As an offshoot of the Wedding Present, they play music in a traditional Ukrainian style. Their current album is ‘A history of rock music in Ukrainian’ and this kind of illustrates my point. An album of (good) cover versions. Tonight they played songs from this album which covers the last 70 years of rock and roll in their own inimitable style. Is it any good? Not sure. Is it good fun. Hell, yes, and that after all is what matters.
