]]> 3433 Mothers at Rough Trade https://www.downatthefront.co.uk/archives/3101 Tue, 01 Mar 2016 22:09:25 +0000 http://gigs.pahudson.net/?p=3101 Taking a punt on a recommendation from a friend, I rushed across London after a football match to catch Mothers at Rough Trade and I’m really pleased I did.

In fairness, it wasn’t completely a random punt. I had heard their current single on 6Music and although I enjoyed it, I wasn’t completely convinced that I’d enjoy them live. The main reason was that I thought the lead singer’s voice might grate after a few songs. In fact, the exact opposite happened. She’s got a really lovely voice and completely made the gig. They played a mixture of material off their new album and the some new materials, simply listed on the set list as ‘new song’!
