King King featuring Alan Nimmo, or probably to be more precise Alan Nimmo featuring King King, are a blues rock group. Alan Nimmo is a big scottish guy with a good blues rock voice. Their sound varied from blue through to 60s and 70s inspired blues rock. I’m not sure they would agree, but at times there was a ‘Free’ sound to their own music and Alan’s voice had a sound of the early Paul Rogers voice in free. The group are clearly talented and throughout their 90 minute set, kept the crowd interested, even managing to get some of the old folks up dancing. They’ve apparently gone down well at Blue Festivals and it was easy to see why. If you get a chance to see them, they’re definitely worth catching.
