Catching up with a SXSW discovery can often be a disappointment. There’s always a chance that you were drunk or taken in by the atmosphere of SXSW and the band doesn’t live up to a second listening. So I was hoping that Tacocats didn’t disappoint. Instead of seeing a fluorescent band in hot Austin sunshine playing lots of high energy songs wondering if the drummer would survive in the heat. It was an evening gig in the Lexington in London. Although the Lexington can get hot. There was no chance of them struggling with heat exhaustion. Luckily, the change in location didn’t detract from the energy levels that impressed me so much at SXSW. Just like in Austin, this was a fun gig.

Finally caught up with FISH. No not that FISH, but a London indie band friends had been recommending for a few months. I thought they were pretty decent. Definitely catch them again
