I’ve only seen her once and that was in a small venue and I wasn’t sure if the effortlessness I’d seen would transfer across to a big stage but I shouldn’t have worried. Even though it was a big venue, she managed to make it seem like she was still playing a pub.

Support was from Big Scary who I thought were one of the blandest bands I’ve seen all year.

Then I saw her perform on TV and she didn’t connect. But with her new album coming out, new songs had been on the radio and again, I really liked them. So I thought I’d give her a chance and I’m really glad I did. She’s really good.

Although she was coming off the back of the SXSW and at times her voice was a bit stressed, she put in a great fun performance.
