With an early evening gig in a pub from Mr B the Gentleman Rhymer, it gave me the opportunity to fit two gigs into one evening, with a flying visit to the Lexington to see Pugwash to keep the comedy theme going.

First up was Mr B in a great little pub playing with an actual orchestra. First the orchestra played some of their own stuff, which was mostly pretty poor. But they completely enhanced Mr B’s performance. It was just one of those gigs where everyone seemed to be up for it.

Next up was a quick dash down to the Lexington to see Pugwash. I don’t actually have any of their music, but Tommy, is part of the Duckworth Lewis Method who I’ve seen several times. So I knew even if the music wasn’t good, it would be an enjoyable evening as he’s a very entertaining individual. True to form, the show was just a opportunity for Tommy to have ‘good craic’ with the crowd regaling us with stories, musings, and anecdotes. The band just seem to enjoy playing to people and it was really nice to see.
