Bo Ningen

A new venue (the 229 Club) and a bit of a weird lineup. The evening seemed to have a 60s inspired theme and the first band of the evening, Hidden Charms had that modish ‘lad’ sound that was reasonably fitting and to be honest, they were a tight band but musically I found them pretty bland and this is what seemed so odd about the lineup. The headline act was the awesome Bo Ningen. With their heavy psychedelic sound, I’m really not sure their music overlaps with the 60s mod scene. As you would expect. Bo Ningen were their usual expansive selves, thundering through their exuberant spacey set. Brilliant as always.
